How a dream led me into quilting.
One night I woke up from a dream with an idea to do Quilted Photography. The idea was how to make photo pixels out of fabric and then sort the fabric by color value I thought that my idea was either crazy or genius! It took me a week to try out the idea and I found out that my dream was a real giftbecause it worked!
In my first career I was a fashion industry professionalbut I had never made a quilt. In fact, the only thing I knew about quilting was what I saw on Simply Quilts and Quilt In A Day television shows.

Last Thursday, the well-known jewelry designer, Shourouk, flew in from Paris to present her newest collection along with the inspirations behind her art, chez La Boutique in downtown San Francisco. You have most likely already seen her pieces on celebrities, runways or gracing the pages of Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, and Glamouror wherever you get your fashion fix.

Name Your Tune
I just got the most adorable baby product in the mail. It is called Name Your Tune 2. It is a cd with twelve classic childrens songs, including Five Little Monkeys, ABCs, Mr Sun, etc. The songs are very well done, but what makes it even more special is that they sing your childs name in the songs. When the cd played Rockwell is a friend of mine, friend of mine, friend of mine, Rockwell smiled so big. I thought it might be a coincidence, but he smiled again, when his name was sung. Either way, he has given it two thumbs up.
Man in the Clouds: Walter Van Beirendonck
Walter Van Beirendonck, Belgian menswear’s garden gnome, has his head in the clouds. Over the past three decades, WVB has simultaneously produced his eponymous collection, taught fashion at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Arts, run his own style emporium, and made art. His latest “performative sculptures,” done in collaboration with artist Erwin Wurm, were the finale of his show on Friday. And starting September 14 through February 2, 2012, Antwerp’s MOMU fashion museum will host “Dream the World Awake,” Van Beirendonck’s first retrospective.
