Olsens win Best Dressed Siblings award
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been named Best Dressed Siblings in Vogue’s Best Dressed Special Edition 2011.
The twins, who are known for taken risks with their fashion choices, own two successful fashion labels The Row and Elizabeth and James.
Mark Holgate, editor of the special edition magazine, said of the Olsens: “”They get it right a lot of the time and then sometimes they don’t get it right. That’s actually great because it shows that it’s their hands reaching into their wardrobes. They don’t have someone telling them, ‘This is cool, this is hot, this is what you should be wearing.’ It comes from within them. It’s instinctual.”
The Olsens beat off competition from the likes of Beyonce and Solange Knowles, Elle and Dakota Fanning and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge and her sister Pippa Middleton, who came in second place.
Holgate said of the Middleton sisters: “It’s been a year of sisters, most famously with Catherine and Pippa Middleton. There was just something interesting about seeing how siblings’ style can be so different and unique. We started thinking about all of the great sister acts who are around right now who look really good together but also look good apart.”
